Greg Placidi, MBA, CFA 

Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager 

Greg is an accomplished portfolio manager with significant experience managing a wide array of investment portfolios. Over the last 30 years, Greg’s career has centered around global financial services, and he has held senior roles in investment management, strategy consulting, real estate and financial services regulation.

Over his career, Greg has stewarded numerous Canadian, U.S and Global portfolios totaling over $1 billion for individuals and institutions. His investment thesis is centered around the “Power of Dividends”, “Advantage of Alternatives”, and the “Importance of Long-term Economic Growth Drivers” all of which are underpinned by a very rigorous and fact-based research process.   

At Assurican Private Wealth, Greg is responsible for the overall leadership of the investment function, including the development of all investment strategies and the successful execution of our clients’ individual investment plans.

Greg has been a guest on BNN TV, Bloomberg TV, business-related radio programs, and interviewed for the Financial Post, the Globe & Mail’s Report on Business, Morningstar Canada, Wealth Professional, and Investment Executive. Greg has been a CFA charter holder since 1989 and has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Finance & Accounting, Queen’s University and an MBA, Finance, University of Toronto. 

Chad Hiscock, CIM, FMVA, CMSA

Director, Private Wealth and Associate Portfolio Manager

Chad is a highly experienced professional with nearly a decade in the finance industry. He has excelled in the areas of portfolio and risk management, client relationship management, and business development. When working with high-net-worth and institutional clients, Chad understands the importance of operating with a high degree of due diligence. Delivering results and driving growth through strategic investments and financial analysis are the key to Chad’s success. 

At Assurican Private Wealth, Chad leverages his investment knowledge with his ability to cultivate strong client relationships that build trust and satisfaction for Assurican clients.   

Chad has his Master of Science in Environmental Studies and Economics from Dalhousie University. He is also a certified Chartered Investment Manager (CIM); Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) and Capital Markets & Securities Analyst (CMSA). Chad’s experience, educational background, and professional certifications demonstrate his comprehensive skill set and commitment to delivering financial services to his clients.
